Word for 2009

By Sandy Cox

At the beginning of December, I heard “resurrection glory and grace.” In 2009 God is sending “resurrection glory” to bring revival to the church. When I first heard resurrection glory, I hear resurrection as an adjective that modifies glory. In other words, it is a certain type or wave of glory. Resurrection power mixed with the “weighty importance and shining majesty which accompany God’s presence” will bring an explosion of new life and change to the church. We will see old theological patterns fall into the ground and die only to be resurrected in His beautiful righteousness and love…a new garment of praise and honor and glory for our soon and coming King!

On December 26th I as I was waking up, I heard, “17,18,high/low... .” I heard it over and over and woke up saying, “17,18,high/low.” I prayed and asked God what He was saying.

I went to one of my favorite books on giving biblical meanings to numbers, Biblical Mathematics by Ed F. Vallowe. It was there that I found information that would lead to solving the mystery of what God was saying.

In his book, Vallowe determines that the basic meaning of the number SEVENTEEN is VICTORY. One of the examples he gave fit perfectly with what I have been hearing God say for 2009.

“Our Lord was crucified on the occasion of the celebration of the Passover, which was on the FOURTEENTH day of the month. (Leviticus 23:5) Luke tells about our Lord eating the Passover with His disciples the same night that He instituted His memorial supper. (Luke 22:13-20) He was taken that night after Judas Iscariot betrayed Him before the High Priest. The next morning He was taken before Pilate and was delivered up to be crucified. (Luke 22:47 to 23:33) Remembering that God reckoned time from one evening to the next evening (Genesis 1:5), it was still the FOURTEENTH day of the month when Christ the Lamb was slain on the altar. While the Jews were observing the Passover, Christ the Passover Lamb was already slain and in the tomb. He was dead THREE days and nights. (Matthew 12:39-40) These THREE days added to the FOURTEENTH day would bring it to the SEVENTEENTH day of the month, which was the day the First Fruit Offering which took place on the FIRST day of the week, the day of the Resurrection, in which our Lord becomes VICTORIOUS over death and the grave.”

The number 17 represents our complete VICTORY in Christ’s finished work on the cross and His resurrection. The Blood of Christ and the Power of His Resurrection Glory will gain us great victory and momentum. We will press in and break through with the supernatural faith that we will gain, as new insight and revelation will flow to our hearts from His Throne of Grace. The Word will become filled with Resurrection power. At the sound of His Name, Jesus, signs , wonders and miracles will be released that will astound many.

The next number I heard was EIGHTEEN. Ed Vallowe says the number EIGHTEEN means BONDAGE. In his explanation, he just happened to tie the numbers SEVENTEEN and EIGHTEEN together with one verse, which really turned out perfect. (I just love it when God does this!)

“Let the reader consider the SEVENTEENTH time the word BONDAGE in the above list remembering that SEVENTEEN is the number that stands for VICTORY. This is found in Joshua 24:17 in which connection Joshua mentions Israel’s VICTORY over all her enemies.

For the Lord our God, He it is that brought us up and our fathers out of the land of Egypt, the house of BONDAGE, Who did those great signs in our sight, and preserved us in all the way we went and among all the people through whom we passed: and the Lord drove out before us all the people. (Joshua 24:17 Amplified)

This describes VICTORY for Israel over all her enemies, and occurs in connection with the SEVENTEENTH time Israel’s bondage is mentioned.

Nothing short of Divine Wisdom could arrange things like this.”

2009 will be a year of great VICTORIES over the enemy where he has tried to hold us in bondage in one form or the other. When the bondages are removed, blinders will lift off of the eyes of our hearts fulfilling the motive of God’s heart in bringing these victories. The motive of His heart being His divine love for His Bride, the Church…you and me. SELAH This fiery heart of His love, will be pour from the Throne of His grace and will burn strongly within us. The Pauline prayer will be answered and fulfilled as we behold and understand His heart:

Ephesians 3: 17-19

17May Christ through your faith [actually] dwell (settle down, abide, make His permanent home) in your hearts! May you be rooted deep in love and founded securely on love,

18That you may have the power and be strong to apprehend and grasp with all the saints [God's devoted people, the experience of that love] what is the breadth and length and height and depth [of it];

19[That you may really come] to know [practically, through experience f or yourselves] the love of Christ, which far surpasses mere knowledge [without experience]; that you may be filled [through all your being] unto all the fullness of God [may have the richest measure of the divine Presence, and become a body wholly filled and flooded with God Himself]! (Amplified Version)

Now for the “high/low” part of the word I heard…2009 will be a year of highs and lows. This is where His glorious grace will be poured out. We will need His grace to be able to handle the high peaks of His glory that we will soar to. We will need grace to not try to take ownership of these glorious revelations. We will need to pray for the grace to walk in humility and know that it is God and God alone Who is worthy of glory. Often times, when we walk in the glory of revelations and under powerful anointing we can be deceived into thinking we did something special and fall into the trap of spiritual pride. I want to encourage everyone to meditate on grace and see the power released in it. (A good place to go to find a breakdown on all that grace in tells is Holman’s Bible Dictionary.

We will need His grace to grow in the low places that will come in 2009. Grace will meet us there. Grace will give us the power to love the unlovely. The power of grace will carry us through the dying to self in order that His love, light and glory can shine in us. The church is to become that beautiful oasis the will catch the attention of a sick and dying world.

As you all know, it is going to get very dark out there in the world. The church will become a shining beacon for us as well. We will all begin to honor and love one another, kind of like Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz, when she clicked her heels together and said, “There is no place like home. There is no place like home.” Dorothy finally discovered that the home that she had distained earlier was truly a place of safety, love and acceptance. She gladly accepted the wise guidance, nurturing and love of Auntie Em and Uncle Henry. She had gained respect for her elders. She realized that she wasn’t so wise after all.

We need each other. Every person who has accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior is in full-time ministry. Grace will help us to not be competitive and not turn our brothers and sisters into mere rivals.

Let’s pray: Father, how we praise and thank You for your resurrection glory and grace that will cause us both to will and to do of Your good pleasure. Holy Spirit grip our hearts with loving and holy conviction. Help us to always wear the beautiful garment of humility. In Jesus precious name, AMEN.
